Price Quote Request
Before we begin, here is some important information about ordering your next kayak from Sisson Kayaks. Once you are ready, click the "Customize Now" button below!
Custom made
All Sisson Kayaks are custom made by Grahame Sisson, to firm order, right here in Methven Mt Hutt Village. Warning:- The lead-time from order to delivery is often quite long. To check the current workload email Grahame.
Measurements and conversions
Please note that New Zealand is a metricated country. Offshore customers confused by our kayak weights, measures and prices can convert the weights by multiplying by 2.2. To convert metres to feet divide the stated boat length by 0.305! Now our $$$$$$ is quite another matter! It’s fair to say that the New Zealand dollar is fairly (cheap for UK and US paddlers to buy) valueless!
Quotations for Export Shipping
We quote and export using FAX.
Customers from other countries are welcome to join in the fun and performance that our New Zealand customers now take for granted. Just request a C.I.F. (Carriage Insured Freight) Quotation. We will try to issue a EMAILED estimate to any customer anywhere in the world within 5 working days. Please supply a working fax #. If you do order a kayak our shipper will need it later to send you your copy of the shipping documents, so start the whole process efficiently please.
Exports quoted in New Zealand Dollars (NZ$) are valid for 60 days. Exports quoted in United States Dollars are valid for 20 days. Once the kayak is ordered the costs are ‘Locked’. There will be no surprises or changes at the time of payment settlement.
Usually quotes/estimates are in NZ Dollars. However American (and other US$ holders) can request a quote in US Dollars. The relevant exchange rate to each quote is set by Sisson Kayaks and the full U.S. Dollar amount is due to settle. US Dollar customers can pay simply (by wire) into our account through Chase Manhattan Bank, New York. Simple! The raising of an quotation is free of charge – request one! See our Terms and Conditions.
Payment options
New Zealand customers can pay by:
-
• Cash
• Eftpos
• Cheque (by prior arrangement)
• Visa or Mastercard Creditcard (by prior arrangement)
• Direct Bank-to-Bank Lodgement
Export customers can pay by:
-
• Direct Lodgement into our Nelson Bank Account in New Zealand Dollars
• Direct Lodgement into our New York Bank Account in US Dollars.
• Selected existing customers, known to us, of fixed address may pay by the credit cards listed above – provided this is pre arranged.
Payment Timing & Deposits
-
• We normally expect zero deposit to be paid at the time a kayak order is placed.
• In the case of "way-Out" Custom colour selections a deposit will (for obvious reasons) however be requested at the time the order is accepted.
Payment Timing Settlement
-
• All goods must to paid for in full before any kayak leaves the Sisson Kayaks factory. There are no exceptions.
• Payment will be requested only at a time that the kayak construction has started. This is usually after the hull and deck unit is out of the mould. The time taken for the payment process to be completed usually matches the time taken to complete the kayak. It all usually comes together nicely.
• Customers paying by Direct Lodgement into either of our Bank Accounts (NZ or US) will be provided with the relevant Bank Account details when the Settlement is request by us.
C.I.F. Export L.C.L. Shipping
Export shipments are CIF. These CIF quotations include local (NZ) cartage to the port, international freighting, insurance, packaging and the documentation to a destination being the closest container freight station to you. Our offshore quotes do not include customs clearance, local handling and cartage charges, local taxes or any other charges that may be levied in your country.
Export damage and Insurance
Your kayak will travel L.C.L. (Less than Container Load). As such it is packed by our shipper into a "general" mixed freight container that will be unloaded at certain mid-stations (Los Angeles into US heartland) and repacked to the final destination. Damage can happen. It is generally impossible to nail the offender. Most customers accept that the odd scratch is a part of life. However, for anything worse our Insurance will back you up to get the damage put right. To find out more, click here.
Freight rates within New Zealand are:
Freight is chargeable within New Zealand.
North Island $190
South Island $110 (except Christchurch)
Christchurch $35
All kayaks are dispatched to New Zealand destinations "Limited Carriers Risk" which gives a maximum claim against damage or loss for $1500. Customers wanting higher cover must request and approve a Full Insurance Cover quotation.
A Testimonial
The following text in italics is an unsolicited quote dated 2 June 2002, from Chris Wiggins, Indianapolis, USA:-
"Wow". "I got my boat (Nucleus 80) Tue last. I am happy to report that everything went well. Given that this parcel came half way around the world, the process was surprisingly smooth. The boat is everything I had hoped. Thank you again, I would not (and will not) hesitate to recommend you to everyone I know looking for a boat."
Thank you Chris. I count myself a lucky man to have so many nice customers such as yourself.
